Terms of Service

1. Service Description
Kotorro is a macOS application that converts selected text into spoken audio using AI voices. The service includes a desktop application and cloud backend for text-to-speech processing.
2. Account Terms
You must create an account to use Kotorro beyond the free trial. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.
3. Free Trial
New users receive a 7-day free trial with access to all features, up to 2,000 words total. No credit card is required to start the trial. After the trial period ends or the word limit is reached, a paid subscription is required to continue using the service.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
The Pro subscription is billed at $15/month or $120/year. Payments are processed by Stripe. You can cancel your subscription at any time from within the app or your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to process content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the application
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the service
- Use automated tools to make excessive requests to the service
- Share your account credentials with others
6. Intellectual Property
Kotorro and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Kotorro and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The audio generated by the service is for your personal use and may not be redistributed commercially without permission.
7. Privacy
Your use of Kotorro is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Text you select is sent to our servers for speech synthesis and is not permanently stored.
8. Availability
We strive to keep Kotorro available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service depends on third-party infrastructure and AI voice providers. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.
9. Limitation of Liability
Kotorro is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice in the app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
